Hello everyone,
This is my new blog. I have made this blog so you can see
how I battle with CFS/ME as it is a hard condition to live with. I have good
days and bad days with CFS/ME.
I'm sure most people get tired but the tiredness I get is
very different. I have an illness which I will end up having for the rest of my
life. The illness is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
For the last year and a half I have been getting extremely
tired and exhausted and my sleep hasn't been refreshing. Well anyway I had a
number of blood tests to rule out other illnesses but they were all fine. A few
weeks ago I went back to the DR and told her how my mobility is severely
reduced and after doing any exercise, shopping etc I end up being bedridden for
the next few days. She said the reason why is because I have Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome. She diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
What Is CFS?
CFS is long term disabling fatigue. CFS is often used by
doctors. This is because the main symptom is often fatigue and the condition is
chronic (persistent). Another name for CFS is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).
The causes of CFS is unknown but DRs think CFS can be linked to viral
infections, depression, inherited genetic susceptibility. CFS/ME can affect
anyone. It is estimated that CFS/ME affects about 1 in 300 people in the UK.It
is three times as common in women as in
men.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog to see how I cope with
CFS/ME and how I cope with it. I have good days and bad days. Follow my
recovery battling through CFS/ME.
Love From Meera xx
